About Wax
Deliberate rotation, built from the music I actually want to hear.
Wax started with a simple frustration: I wanted to listen to playlists on shuffle and hear every song. Instead of relying on another random sequence, I built Wax to deliberately distribute the songs in my active listening library across the week.
The music itself stays human-curated. I choose what belongs in rotation, then Wax uses K-means clustering on BPM and Mood, where Mood = Energy + Dance + Valence, to divide the songs into daily playlists. K-nearest neighbors then sequences each playlist so the songs flow from one track to the next.
Wax Weekly is the listening experience built from that system: seven daily playlists across five genre-bending profiles, Alt Rock, Classic Rock, Country Blues, Indie Folk, and Pop & Hip-Hop. Every song is curated by Kasey Mallette, then distributed and sequenced using Wax.
